How to Start a Profitable Blog Course

DAY FIVE

Today, we are going to talk about:

  1. Why it isn’t too soon to launch your blog!

  2. Why you would launch your blog.

  3. How to launch your blog.

Why it isn’t too soon to launch your blog.

When I started my blog, I didn’t launch until I had multiple blog posts, photos, and an about page, but now, after being in the game for a few years, I realize none of that really matters because no one is going to come to your blog until you give them the link.

Your friends on Facebook and your parents aren’t just going to end up on your blog unless you send them the link and ask them to check it out. So, you don't have to worry about making your blog perfect before you launch it and make it public.

No one is going to visit your blog until you actively start sharing it publicly with people you know or on social media.

It also will take a while before Google and other search engines start featuring your content, even after sharing it with them, so you don’t have to worry about random people coming to your blog through search engines for quite some time.

Why you would launch your blog.

Launching your blog just means making your blog visible to people you share the link with.

Launching your blog allows you to connect plugins to your blog, connect your blog to social media, and monetize your blog. If you want to make money blogging, you should be itching to launch your blog because you can’t apply for most affiliate programs, ad programs, or sponsorship opportunities until you launch your blog.

The reason you’d want to launch your blog sooner rather than later is so you can do things like:

  • Monetize your blog posts from the beginning,

  • Connect Google Analytics,

  • Connect your Pinterest account.

  • Make sure your links work.

These are things you can’t do until your blog is public, but you’ll probably want to do them before sharing your blog with people or on social media.

The reason you can’t do these things before you launch your blog is that companies won’t approve you for an affiliate program or ads until they can see that your blog isn’t spam and when your website is just showing a “coming soon” page they can’t tell that your website is really you and not spam.

Even when it comes to things like verifying your website on Pinterest so you can start sharing your content there, Pinterest won’t verify your website until it is launched because they won’t be able to see that it’s you until it’s public.

How to launch your blog:

Now that you know why you should launch your blog ASAP here is how to actually do it.

  1. Login to your Bluehost and then your WordPress account.

  2. On the left side under “Bluehost,” click settings.

  3. Under “Maintenance Mode” you should see a blue bar that says “Your website is currently displaying a coming soon page”

  4. Right above that next to the “Coming soon page:” turn the switch off so your website is no longer displaying a coming soon page.

Thats it! That’s all it takes to launch your blog.
