We’re having a baby!

Oh man, this announcement has been a long time coming!

I am so excited to announce that we’re having a baby girl this December.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know how much we wanted and wished for this baby, and I can’t wait to bring her home in just a few short months now.

I always assumed I was going to be the type of person who announced basically the second the pregnancy test was positive, but I’ve been surprisingly more anxious than I imagined, and every time I’ve gone to announce it, I’ve felt like I should wait until the next milestone instead so I wouldn’t jinx it.

We just got home from our 20-week anatomy scan, and baby girl looks great! She’s measuring in the 51% percentile, and everything looks great. I still feel like this is a dream, and I couldn’t possibly be this lucky.

The Journey to Baby

If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know how much I look forward to motherhood. Last May, I decided to start focusing on my health because I thought that might help my chances of getting pregnant with PCOS.

I ended up losing over 70 lbs and finding a love of Pilates, and moving my body. At the beginning of 2023, we decided to start trying again now that I was healthier, and by April, I was pregnant. I was shocked that after years and years of struggling with PCOS, just focusing on my health was enough to actually get pregnant.

I was so shocked when I took the test, and it was positive. I proceeded to take eight more, and even after those and three blood tests that showed my HCG doubling, I felt like I was in denial until I saw the little bean and her heartbeat at my 8-week ultrasound.

Because it all happened so fast when I expected it to take so long because of my PCOS, I kept feeling like this was too good to be true. That led to a lot of anxiety and feeling like the other shoe was going to drop any second now.

Now that I’m a little over halfway there and can feel her move, I feel like I’m getting less and less anxious, which is a big blessing and why I finally feel ready to share.

I’ll share more about what made me take a test and telling my husband on Instagram later if you’re interested @ByTaylorStanford, or you can click here.

What do I need?

Obviously we’re first-timers with this so I am so open to suggestions on what we need to buy for her before she gets here.

If you’ve got any suggestions, definitely leave them below.

I’ve started working on her nursery and I’ll be sharing more of that over on Instagram if you want to follow along. @ByTaylorStanford or you can click here.

Thank you for being here and supporting my blog it means the world to me honestly.
