LIFE & STYLE

Just a Florida girl who built a business and is now sharing her life to help you build a life you love.

hi, i'm taylor

How 2019 Change My Life and How 2020 Can Change Yours.

2019 was crazy and not at all what I expected. To explain why we have to go back to early 2018. In 2018 my blog went viral organically. I went from getting around 200 people to my website every day to getting like 10,000 people to my website every day.

It was super unexpected but appreciated because with that my income also skyrocketed. The issue is at the time I wasn’t sure what I did to go viral. I didn’t know to recreate it.

So for the first few months of 2018, I was making a lot of money but I wasn’t in control of it. Then about halfway through the year, my income started to decline because I had no idea how to recreate my successful Pinterest Pins, Facebook posts, or use my email list.

At the end of 2018, I was spending every day trying to figure out how to recreate my success. I was listening to podcasts, taking classes, and reading every book I can get my hands on.

And nothing was working.

My husband and I were even considering going back to normal jobs because it was less stressful.

Then 2019 happened…

Fast forward to the beginning of 2019 it happened again. My content was going viral. I had finally cracked the code of what it takes.

But I was sure that it was going to end as it did before, so every day I would check how many people came to my website, and how much money we made that day and every day it stayed the same or went up.

Then in February, it went up even more and I ended up making nearly $50,000 in one month.

So what changed in 2019?

The crazy thing about 2019 was that my blog actually made a consistent income every month. In 2019 I made the most my blog had ever made, and I made it the most consistently.

But how?

The way I made my blog’s income consistent was using a specific Pinterest strategy, it made it so I could control how many people came to my blog every day, which meant I had a lot more say in how much money I made from my blog.

I don’t want to dive into exactly how I use Pinterest for my blog now to make a consistent income because it would take many pages to explain but I did create a whole guide on it that you can check out if you want. I wrote more about my guide to using Pinterest to make a consistent income in a blog post you can click here to read that.

So what did that mean for 2019?

Because my income was stable I could control my workload which meant that 2019 ended up being the best year of my entire life thanks to people like you reading my blog.

In 2019 I was able to:

  • Buy my dream SUV.

  • Pay for a college scholarship.

  • Give away two cars.

  • Go on my dream two-week vacation to Hawaii.

  • Go to Disney World.

  • Go to RISE Business in South Carolina.

  • Sit courtside at an NBA playoff game.

Here are some of my pictures from 2019:

So how can you make 2020 your best year ever?

I always want my blog posts to provide value to you and your life so now I want to help you make 2020 your best year ever.

This is specifically for people who are interested in starting a blog in 2020 or making their blog income consistent.

1.Start your blog

If you have been hesitating to start your blog for a long time because you are scared of what people close to you will think, or you don’t think you’ll know what to do, or really any reason just start. I was afraid to start a blog for so long but it ended up changing my life.

2. Take a blogging course.

I messed around on my own trying to blog for so long before I finally figured out how to make my blog good enough to make money. You can save so much time if you just learn how to blog from someone who does it full-time. I have a super affordable course about blogging but I’ll also link to my favorites.

  • 30 Days to Blog Success <- The course I teach its $25 currently with the code 2020GOALS

  • Elite Blogging Academy <- not always open for enrollment but you can click to join the waitlist it’s about $1000

  • I also have a short FREE blogging course that gets emailed to you, you can sign up in the form below.

3. Learn Pinterest.

Pinterest is the single thing that makes my blog earn multiple six figures a year. I’ve never driven people to my blog with Facebook Ads, or SEO. I just focus on Pinterest. It always me to not get overwhelmed and still make a great income online.

There are many ways to learn about Pinterest but if you want to learn my personal strategy I talk about it in a blog post you can click here to read.

4. Plan plan plan

When I started my blog in 2016 I worked and took classes part-time so time was really limited for me to work on my blog. If you are someone who really wants to blog but you have a full or part-time job, or your a full-time mom It can be hard to think of where you would even possibly begin to fit time in for a blog.

But that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth trying. The way I fit blogging in my schedule was planning out my day hour by hour in a planner, or even just a handy dandy notebook.

I would start with the hour I woke up and write down everything from brushing my teeth in the morning to washing my face before bed. I would write down when I was going to work, my drive home, when I was going to work on my blog, and what I specific thing I was going to work on that day.

That made it easy to see when I had free time to work on my blog.

Yes, this might mean skipping dinner with friends on a Friday night, or bringing a laptop on vacation, or even calling a babysitter for an extra day so you can focus on your blog. But, if this is what you want then you have to fit it in and plan for it even when it’s hard.

5. Stay motivated.

I don’t know how many people I’ve helped start a blog who went on to lose motivation but it is a lot.

I honestly believe anyone can become a successful blogger, or entrepreneur if they just keep themselves motivated or dedicated.

So how can you stay motivated this year and actually achieve your goals?

  1. Get a journal and each day write down what your goals are. Yes, this gets repetitive, but If I practice this daily I am way more likely to achieve my goals.

  2. When you feel like skipping the part of your day you planned to spend working on your blog force yourself to first take five minutes to think about where your life will be if your blog becomes successful. What vacations will you go on, what kind of car would you buy, would you retire your husband too?

  3. Create a routine and force yourself to stick to it. It can feel hard to plan out your days every day, but if you can create a routine and work on your blog at the same time every day, you will be way more likely to do it once the motivation wears off just because you are in the routine of doing it.

That’s all I’ve got for now, next week I’ll be diving into all of my goals for 2020 and how I plan to achieve them so if you are interested in that be sure to come back next week and check it out.

I hope if you are interested in blogging this helps you take the first steps to actually achieve your blogging dreams.
