this is my life. I started blogging in 2016 as a way to hopefully earn some income so that I could travel more, work less and one day be a stay at home mom. I never thought this could turn into a half a million dollar business that's changed my whole life. To fully understand me you need to understand the whole story. So let's get started.
Growing up the only thing I ever wanted to be was a mom. So when It came to be time to pick out a college major I had no idea what I wanted to do. I decided to pick nursing because in my mind that meant that in the future I could work three days a week and stay home four days a week instead of the normal two. Once I got to college I quickly realized nursing wasn't for me but I had no idea what I wanted to do.
The reason I didn't want to be a nurse was because I realized I was going to be in $80,000 worth of debt, and after debt payments, a car payment, and a house payment I wasn't going to get to live a life I would love for at least 15 years. We currently lived in a super small one bedroom apartment and still were barely getting by. I couldn't wait 15 years to be happy. So I headed to Pinterest and Google to try and figure out a way to work from home.
I tried so many things before I found blogging. Like transcribing audio, taking surveys, and scanning grocery receipts. Nothing worked. But for some reason I felt called to blogging, so I went all in. Even after months of not seeing much progress. Then next thing I knew after changing my major, and taking every course I could 7 months into blogging I started making real money and quit my job.
Now my blog brings in an income nearly 10 times higher than what I would have made as a nurse. I get to work from home, travel with my husband and friends, and share my life with all of you as well as sharing my marketing tips with thousands of small business owners.
I was born and raised in little Vero Beach, FL. I lived there until I was 18.
I got my first job at 16 working at Izod. It was the first job I ever applied for and I worked there for a little over 2 years until I left for college. This photo is from my last day there.
I started dating my husband the summer before senior year, and the summer after senior year we got married. We're crazy.
After getting married my husband and I went to the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (Go Huskers!) together.
I got an on campus job my first week at college. I worked basically full-time in the dining hall in order to pay for everything I needed. It was a yucky, stinky job! Before the first semester ended I was promoted to Student Manager and I had a team of 10 students working under me.
In 2016 shortly after my first year of college came to an end and we entered our second year of marriage I realized I hated my life. I needed to find something I love, a way to travel, and a way to hopefully become a stay at home mom. So, I started a blog!
After 7 months of blogging things really started to take off, I was able to quit my job. My husband was able to leave his job. We both changed our majors from being in the medical field to business so we could learn everything to grow this blogging biz we started.
After 4 years and two major changes, I was done with school and could run my blog + biz full-time. I started doing marketing consulting, and selling courses to help small biz owners grow their businesses with digital marketing.
Now in 2020 I run a multi-six figure blog, and marketing biz from Orlando, Florida. My passion is sharing everything I have learned on my journey with other people because I wish there were resources like this when I first started. I also get to drive my dream car, live in my dream house, and travel the world with the people I love.
